When you’re looking for a job, you’ll probably do anything it takes to get one that would be a good match for your personality and skills. You might be applying for hundreds of jobs in your selected field, hearing nothing back and wondering where did it all go wrong. At CRG, we can make that process much easier, as we provide opportunities for jobs involving many industries including IT consulting services in Charlotte, NC, as well as the surrounding areas, the Triad (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem), the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and beyond.
But if you’re reading this, then you’ve probably already secured an interview with a company, and you’d like to know how to pass with flying colors. Although interviews can get a bit stressful, it does help when you know what to do and what not to do. We’ve taken the best interview dos and don’ts and compiled them into one blog to help you with your next interview. Here they are:
Dos:
● Dress like a successful person in your chosen field – There are many different articles out there that can help you figure out what to wear during your job interview. The main things you need to focus on are making sure your clothes fit well, they are neatly pressed and are appropriate for the work environment.
● Give your interviewer a firm handshake – This pretty much speaks for itself. When you greet the interviewer, give them a firm handshake and make eye contact. This tells them you’re confident. Just make sure you don’t crush their hand.
Don’ts:
● Criticize your former company or employer – No matter how bad they might’ve been, you’ll want to leave the criticizing out of your job interview. Remember: you want to make a good impression on them! Don’t give the impression that you are a complainer.
● Check your phone during the interview – At all. For any reason. Turn your phone off or put it on silent during your interview. If it rings, vibrates, or you end up checking it, it will leave a very bad impression on the interviewer.
So, get out there and show the world (or the interviewer) what you’re capable of! To learn more about jobs in High Point, NC, the Triad, Triangle, greater Charlotte area and beyond, contact us at 844-CRG-WORK.
