- If your interviewer is very late – If you were late to a job interview, it would definitely negatively affect your chances of getting the job. So, if your interviewer was late, wouldn’t it affect how you view them as well as the company as a whole? It could come down to the fact that it’s a particularly busy day or an important meeting ran late, but it could also mean the organization is disorganized.
- They badmouth the person you’re replacing – It’s appropriate for the interviewer to talk about current roles in the department, but if he or she badmouths the person who previously worked there, that’s a red flag. An interviewer who speaks ill of anyone, in fact, shows poor character and judgment. It also speaks poorly of the organization as a whole.
- The company has a high turnover rate – This typically speaks for itself. If you’ve noticed that the company has a high turnover rate (whether you heard it from word-of-mouth or online reviews), that raises a red flag. Most of the time, companies have a high turnover rate if employees feel as though they are not appropriately compensated for their actions or if the culture is toxic.
